Feeding Ourselves is the annual gathering and community of practice bringing together local food producers, community food initiatives, agri-food & land use researchers & short food supply chain advocates.
Cultivate currently coordinates Living Labs in two Horizon Europe projects—EU4Advice and CODECS—that aim to accelerate the transition to resilient, local food systems. Cultivate has contributed to earlier Horizon 2020 research projects focused on digitalisation, soil health, and citizen engagement.
The WEAll Hub Ireland initiative began in late 2020 when two Irish charities, the Foundation for the Economics of Sustainability (Feasta) and the European Health Futures Forum (EHFF), that are members of WEAll, joined with Social Justice Ireland, Cultivate: The Sustainable Ireland Cooperative, the Playhouse Theatre in Derry/Londonderry, and individuals including Peter Doran of Queen’s University School of Law in Northern Ireland, in order to form the core of the Hub.
In EU4Advice, Cultivate leads an Irish Living Lab focused on building the capacity of Short Food Supply Chain (SFSC) advisors and local food facilitators. Through networking and stakeholder dialogue, we are co-developing strategies and training resources that equip advisors to support farmers and communities in creating fairer, more sustainable food economies.
