Rob Hopkins, in a public interview with Cultivate's Davie Philip, will explore what Transition is all about. The Transition Towns model has its roots in Ireland before being further developed and refined in Totnes, UK. Transition initiatives and network hubs have now emerged in countries around the world and 1000’s of communities are now adopting the process. The Transition process includes envisioning and action planning for how a community can transition to an energy lean, carbon constrained, and relocalised future that is green, economically viable and environmentally sustainable. This will be followed by a café discussion and an introduction from Transition Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The Lunch and Learn Cultivate Networking Sessions at the Greenhouse introduce and explore pertinent issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a collaborative and engaging café setting. The full series includes discussions on the Green New Deal, Peak Oil, Climate Change, Green Public Procurement, the Smart Economy, Eco-Enterprise, The Aarhus Convention and other topics. To fit our busy schedules the sessions start promptly at noon and end at 1.30 pm. At each session, a light lunch from Café Fresh and Fair Trade coffee and tea are provided.
