"The trip was great. The example houses were lovely and showed how a green house... can save the cost of heating / energy, money and environment."
"Great hospitality!"
"Thank you very much for such a great tour."

The Sligo Green Homes Tour visited 4 very different family homes:
A 100 yr old renovated cottage with a timber frame extension;

A new-build domestic house clad in birch and alder with a sedum roof;
A post and beam home on stilts:

And a cob 2-storey family home.
The group learned of the issues and successes of the building – from insurance difficulties of a domestic property with a sedum roof; deciding on the tank size for a rain water harvesting system and marrying costs with eco principles.
