BER Foundations

Gain an overview of Building Energy Rating, the DEAP software and methodology and the Energy Performance of Building Directive and its implementation in Ireland.  Topics include building physics, U-value calculations, and heating systems. Additional sessions include DEAP familiarity and the SEI National Administration System.
The course is open to all who are interested, but those who are trade or degree qualified in a construction discipline may continue on to the BER Assessor course.  The course is also suitable for those for whom it has been a long time since last completing assignments/sitting an exam, those who would like an introduction into the concepts behind the BER before training to become an assessor, and anyone who would like more time working with the material.

Why take this course? If you want to do the BER course but want to brush up beforehand on your skills calculating U values etc.

Please Note:  Completion of this course does not guarantee a place on the FETAC Level 6 BER Assessor course.  Candidates will still need to meet FETAC and SEAI requirements to be submitted for and/or accepted to the SEAI register of BER Assessors.
