Description: Gain an overview of Building Energy
Rating, the DEAP software and methodology and the Energy Performance of
Building Directive and its implementation in Ireland. Topics include
building physics, U-value calculations, and heating systems. Additional
sessions include DEAP familiarity and the SEI National Administration
System.
The course is open to all who are interested, but those
who are trade or degree qualified in a construction discipline may
continue on to the BER Assessor course. The course is also suitable for
those for whom it has been a long time since last completing
assignments/sitting an exam, those who would like an introduction into
the concepts behind the BER before training to become an assessor, and
anyone who would like more time working with the material.
Why take this course? If you want to do the BER course but want to brush up beforehand on your skills calculating U values etc.
Please Note:
Completion of this course does not
guarantee
a place on the FETAC Level 6 BER Assessor course. Candidates will
still need to meet FETAC and SEAI requirements to be submitted for
and/or accepted to the SEAI register of BER Assessors.
