About the films

Addicted to Plastic
Addicted to Plastic is a documentary focusing on the worldwide production and environmental effects of plastic. The presenter takes a 2-year trip around the world to give us a better understanding of the life cycle of plastic.

Blue Gold
In every corner of the globe, we are polluting, diverting, pumping, and wasting our limited supply of fresh water at an expediential level as population and technology grows.  The overdevelopment of agriculture, housing and industry increase the demands for fresh water well beyond the finite supply, resulting in the desertification of the earth.  Blue Gold investigates the emerging phenomenon of water as a resource in short supply being squandered beyond capacity.

Power of Community
Power of Community is an inspiring and thought provoking film dealing with a country cut off from it’s oil supply and shows how community resilience and small but radical changes in thinking and living have provided the solutions to problems we are facing today.

The Cuban economy, heavily dependent on economic aid from the Soviet Union, suffered tremendously following the end of the Cold War. The nation lost half of its oil imports, and 85% of its international trade. Cuba began a slow recovery focused on rejecting consumption in favour of sustainable growth and is one of the leading examples of sustainable living in our world today.

Economics of Happiness
The Economics of Happiness is a film which demonstrates the power and importance of preserving local community which in turn celebrates local culture, identity and dignity.  We live in a world that is only learning how to communicate openly and honestly – Economics of Happiness is a good reference point for determining what we perceive as being important and how the future of our global society is in our local hands today.

Garbage Warrior
Imagine designing, creating and living in a self sustaining home.  If you can’t imagine it then see it through the eyes of those who have…Garbage Warrior has lateral thinking down to a fine art, don’t believe me…watch it.

The Age of Stupid
If we could go back and change the past would we?  This is the premise of The Age of Stupid, when do we declare ownership and responsibility for our lives and our planet?  What kind of wake up call are we waiting for?  The world is full of problems and we together have the answer – so why wait and look when we can go forward and create.

The End of Suburbia
The End of Suburbia explores the American Way of Life and its prospects as the planet approaches a critical era, as the consumption of fossil fuel vastly outweighs the capacity for supply.  Do we stay on course maintaining our present lifestyles regardless of the consequences or do we re-evaluate our way of living and our dependence on finite resources to sustain our current lifestyles?  The End of Suburbia is not the end, simply the beginning of something new.

Food Inc.
Food Inc. investigates what we consume on a daily basis and provides information about the reality behind the mass factory outlay of one of our most primary needs: food.  The film is in-depth, honest and adorned with real information that we are presently unaware of or that we have chosen to ignore.  It provides a dynamic synthesis of the fast food, westernised world where food source and food consumption are worlds apart and not a part of the same world.
