DIY Off Grid Power Supplies Workshop

Sunday November 11th | 10am - 5pm | €100

How to set up independent power supplies using Solar PV, micro wind and pedal power with Andy Wilson

This workshop is aimed at novices who wish to set up their own off- grid power supplies. It will cover everything from assessing one's energy requirements and site evaluation to selection of equipment, basic electrical wiring procedures and system management.

The workshop is a mixture of theory and hands-on. and by the end of the day course participants will have helped to assemble and commission a fully operational off-grid power supply using solar photovoltaic panels and a bicycle powered generator. While this sort of system (based primarily on solar PV) would not deliver all year round power supplies owing to the limitations of solar energy in the winter months, other options  ( including micro wind and home-produced  ethanol) will be covered during  the workshop.
